Be a Water Warrior

According to the Composite Water Management Index (CWMI) report released by the Niti Aayog, 21 major cities has been predicted with "Day Zero". Day Zero refers to the day when a place is likely to have no drinking water of its own.

The CWMI report also states that the country's water demand will be twice the available supply by 2030, implying severe water scarcity for millions of people. The groundwater pumping, inefficient and wasteful water management system and years of deficient rains has resulted to this.

Few flushing systems can also be retrofitted to reduce flushing. Installing tank bank inside flush tank results in saving water.
💧  Install Water Efficient Showers: A regular shower dispenses around 15 to 20 litres of water per minute. When you use less water, you recycle it less and thus save money. Existing showers can also be converted into water efficient showers by installing water restrictors.

💧  Use brooms more, not a hose, to clean driveways and sidewalks of your apartment. Around 30% of fresh water in apartment is used to maintain lawns, driveways and sidewalks.
💧  Reduce evaporation of water from Swimming pool: If you live in apartment, your apartment has outdoors swimming pool than evaporation rate will be very high. Try to cover the swimming pool when not in use, say afternoon, when evaporation is high.
